Power supply to be restored in Borno within six weeks, FG assures

THE Minister of Power, Abubakar Aliyu, said today that power supply would be restored to Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, within six weeks.

Aliyu made this known during a courtesy visit to his office in Abuja by the Vice Chancellor, Borno State University (BSU), Professor Umar Kyari Sandabe, and his management team.

He assured the Vice Chancellor that the government had employed mini-grid and off-grid solutions to restore power to Maiduguri.

He also informed him that the power restoration was being hastened through an independent power plant project being handled through the Federal government’s policy on off-grid and mini-grid.

The minister also directed the Rural Electrification Agency (REA) to explore ways at which the universities in the state would benefit from the energizing education policy of the Federal government.
