Bye election: Appeal Court reserves judgement on Bassa/Jos North

The Jos judicial division of the Court of Appeal, has Thursday, reserved judgment in the main appeal filed by Hon. Musa Agah and his Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), challenging the judgement of the Election Petition Tribunal, which declared Muhammad Adam Alkali and his Peoples’ Redemption Party (PRP), as valid winner of the 26th February, 2022 bye-election in Bassa/Jos North federal constituency.

The court’s panel of justices, lead by Justice Tani Hassan, further reserved judgment in the cross-appeal by Muhammad Adam Alkali and the PRP.

In September, 2, 2022, the Election Petition Tribunal, nullified the election and subsequent returned of Hon. Musa Agah.

It further declared Muhammad Adam Alkali, as valid winner of the bye-election for Bassa/Jos North Federal Constituency.

But, not satisfied with the judgement, Hon. Agah and his party, the PDP, appealed against the judgment in suit no:”CA/J/EPT/PL/HR/215/A/2022″.
