A’Ibom: Proposed N6.8bn substation will strengthen national grid – Buhari


The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd), has said that the proposed 2X30/40 MVA substation  in Akwa Ibom State would strengthen the national grid by increasing its wheeling capacity to 25, 000MW by the year 2025.

Buhari stated this on Monday in Ibiono Ibom Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State while performing the ground breaking ceremony for the construction of the substation estimated to cost over N6.8 billion.

The President who was represented by the Minister of State for Power, Prince Goddy Jeddy-Agba, said that the ground breaking  of the substation was a fulfillment of his campaign promises to Akwa Ibom State.

He said, “We are here for an official ground breaking ceremony of the construction of 2×30/40MVA substation at Ibiono Ibom.
