Rules are rules: Biden attacks democracy

Rules are rules: Under President Joe Biden, anybody who questions, demeans, or belittles a government institution and its public servants is attacking American democracy itself. That standard is bad news for the president because he slammed the U.S. Supreme Court on Thursday after it declared affirmative action in government-subsidized higher education to be unconstitutional.

At least that’s what Leftists argue when they are the ones being criticized. Otherwise, all branches of the federal government and its many officials are fair game — especially if they threaten Democrat power.

Americans were reminded of that yet again after Biden refused to defend the high court and did not condemn those who call it a “rogue court” or illegitimate. He even said it was an abnormal bench.

CNN’s Arlette Saenz asked, “President Biden, the Congressional Black Caucus said the Supreme Court has thrown into question its own legitimacy. Is this a rogue court?”

President Biden responded, “This is not a normal court.”

This court might not be typical, but it is normal. The justices were all appointed by the president and confirmed by the U.S. Senate. It is entirely legitimate.

The only reason this court earns derision is that it often delivers conservative rulings. After decades of seemingly bad decisions that moved the country leftward, that can seem out of the norm to those used to getting their way.

Democrats don’t like having their power questioned, and they hate losing it. That’s why they smear anybody who puts up a fight against them. It doesn’t matter if that person is a politician, a journalist, or a member of a branch of the government.
