It’s great to have a full round of USA Major League Soccer fixtures this midweek. Here we focus on New York City vs Charlotte.
The teams are side by side in the table locked together on 24 points but know a win could propel them into the playoff places of the league table.
New York City vs Charlotte Game Winner
New York City finally ended their franchise record-equaling 11-game winless run with a 1-0 victory over Montreal at the weekend.
Having drawn their last five games prior to that win, the Pigeons are now unbeaten in six. Only New England are currently on a longer such sequence without defeat.
Coincidentally, Charlotte’s last fixture was also against Montreal. That 0-0 draw on June 25th being a third successive stalemate in the league.
It is hard to tell if the extra rest will benefit Charlotte or not. One thing for certain is New York City will certainly be feeling better having got that long overdue win.
