Arrests made as Just Stop Oil protesters disrupt Wimbledon with orange confetti and puzzle on same court twice

Two people have been arrested as play at Wimbledon was halted twice as Just Stop Oil protesters threw orange confetti onto Court 18.

The contest was disrupted in the second set when protesters from Just Stop Oil ran onto the court.

They threw orange confetti onto the turf, as well as pieces of a Wimbledon jigsaw puzzle.

After the protesters were taken off, a statement from the All England Club said: “Following an incident on Court 18, two individuals have been arrested on suspicion of aggravated trespass and criminal damage and these individuals have now been removed from the grounds.

“Play on the court was temporarily paused and, following a suspension in play due to a rain delay, play is about to resume.”

Later on in the day, the activists returned to the same court and once again…
