They have effectively drawn an iron curtain and uninterrupted chain of unelected and unconscionable military juntas right across the centre of our continent, dividing North Africa from the rest of Africa… It follows that the greatest challenge of our time is to ensure that this leperous belt of unconstitutional governments does not get any bigger, stronger and wider, and that the virus of military interventions and coups does not spread any further.

Despite the hysteria about who has been made a minister and who has not, and the euphoria about which portfolios they have been given or not been given, let us remain focused on the major issues of the day and not take our eyes off the ball.
