Reps begin investigation into crude oil theft, say Nigeria losses NI.29trn yearly

 

The Speaker of Nigeria’s House of Representatives, Abbas Tajudeen, says the parliament is determined to end the trillions of naira lost annually to oil theft in Nigeria.

He also laments the state of primary health care centres across the country.

Its the inauguration of the Special Committee to probe the spate of crude oil theft and losses in the country.

Statistics show that the nation loses an average of N1.29 trillion annually due to industrial-scale theft.

The state of primary health care across the country is also a source of worry for the parliament.

Dilapidated infrastructure and shortage of skilled health workers are major challenges in the sector.

This retreat for members of the House Committee on Healthcare Services is to broaden their knowledge on the task ahead.
