Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness has claimed Leicester City star Kelechi Iheanacho can land a “good move in the Premier League this summer”.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the 66-year-old – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – suggested the Foxes will want “stability” but could lose the 27-year-old to a top-flight rival in the off-season.
Iheanacho is out of contract at the King Power Stadium next month after joining from Man City in 2017.
During the Championship trophy presentation last week, the Nigeria international wore a t-shirt with the slogan: “We’ve got history. When I’m gone, you gon’ miss me.”
That move has sparked speculation within the Leicester fanbase about the future of the forward – despite their promotion back to the top flight.
Iheanacho could reject Leicester renewal and seal rival move, says Wyness
Wyness told Football Insider‘s Insider Track podcast: “I would’ve thought it would be his agent that would’ve advised him on the t-shirt.
“There will have been discussions about his future behind the scenes and both sides may be close.
“He could be trying to put fan pressure on the board.
“All these little things aren’t a coincidence, there is usually something going on behind the scenes.
“I think he can do a big job for Premier League sides, he’s someone I’d keep an eye on.
“I know Everton have been interested in him, and he’s got the ability to get a good move in the Premier League.
