Adamawa State has constituted a petition tribunal and an appeal panel to treat petitions that may arise from the local government election that took place in the state last Saturday.
The Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission, ADSIEC, had on Saturday, July 13, conducted elections that produced chairmen and councilors for the 21 local government areas of the state.
The state Chief Judge, Justice Hafsat Abdulrahaman swore in the chairmen and members of the petition tribunal and appeal panel at the state High Court, Yola, on Wednesday.
In her remark, the CJ explained that the formation and inauguration of the tribunal and panel is in tandem with sections 53 and 58 of the Adamawa State Electoral Law, 2002, which empowers her as the chief judge to carry out the task.
She charged members of the tribunal and panel to work with the fear of God and ensure quick disposition of matters that may come before them.
