Jeremy Clarkson puts up huge tent in the grounds of his £1million Cotswolds pub so he can sell alcohol to punters while building work continues

Jeremy Clarkson has erected a giant marquee in the grounds of his country pub so he can sell alcohol in it, MailOnline can reveal.

The mostly green marquee measures around 5,000 square feet and is located in the five-acre grounds of The Windmill pub in the Cotswolds which the TV star purchased for £1 million.

The tent has large fluorescent orange lettering on its roof, spelling out ‘GT – Grand Tour’ – the name of his soon-to-be-dissolved Amazon Prime motoring show and is clearly visible for many miles around the pristine Cotswolds countryside.

Clarkson, 64, applied to West Oxfordshire District Council on July 30 to make changes to his licensing permit, with a notice of his intention posted outside The Windmill, which is located in the village of Asthall, close to Burford, Oxfordshire.

It states that Clarkson wishes to ‘update the floor plans to include a bar on the 1st floor, extend the licensable area outside the premises and include a temporarily (sic) tent in a fixed location.’
