The “real campaign” starts next month — after Labor Day — when the “sugar high” that Democrats are feeling right now comes to an end, House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) said on Tuesday.
During a Fox News interview, Johnson dismissed the high level of excitement Democrats are trying to exude during their national convention while rallying around Vice President Kamala Harris after many of them pressured President Joe Biden into dropping out of the White House race.
“Everything that we’re seeing at the convention — everything they’re saying, is patently untrue,” Johnson said. “They’re trying to convince the American people that what we’re seeing, and experiencing, and feeling isn’t real.”

Johnson argued that when Democrats brag about a hot economy, they ignore a reality that is not quite so rosy as Americans grapple with the increased prices of goods and services.
