Comedian Jon Stewart slammed Democrats this week for the hypocrisy that was on display at the Democratic National Convention (DNC).
Stewart made the remarks on Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show” on Thursday night following the convention’s conclusion.
“At their convention, they had union leaders and C.E.O.s. They had Democratic Party icons and lifelong Republicans,” he said. “They had a guy yelling, ‘Screw the billionaires!’ followed immediately by a very happy billionaire.”
Stewart was referencing attacks from Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and the subsequent remarks from Illinois Democrat Governor J.B. Pritzker, who is a billionaire.
“It’s all okay if it’s our billionaire,” Stewart mockingly said of the Democrats. “I don’t like billionaires, but he’s all right.”
