‘We Have Not Approved ₦70,000 New Minimum Wage’ – Yobe Govt

The Yobe State Government has clarified that it has not made any announcements concerning approving the new minimum wage.

In response to ongoing speculation, the government emphasized that it is actively working on this matter and will release an official statement once the process is finalized.

Naija News reports that the Director-General of Press and Media Affairs for the Yobe State Governor, Mamman Mohammed, made this clarification on Thursday, addressing what he termed a false and misleading social media post regarding the alleged approval of a new minimum wage in the state.

Mohammed said: “The post failed to provide details nor indicate when and where the statement emanated, making the content professionally discredited.

“Similarly, Daily Trust newspaper has disowned the content, saying the logo used on the online post is not its logo, and the story could not be found on its website.”
