The forthcoming governorship election in Edo State would be influenced significantly by factors including the hike in the price of fuel, poverty, hunger and growing inflation in the country, says John Mayaki, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Naija News reports that the 2024 governorship election in Edo is set for September 21.
Referring to a recent survey, Mayaki noted that many individuals hold the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) at the federal level responsible for these pressing issues.
In a statement he signed and made available to newsmen on Wednesday, Mayaki said: “Ongoing electoral campaigns in Edo State have been dominated by national issues, including widespread hardship, endemic poverty, job losses and unemployment, inflation, poor and impassable federal roads, the removal of fuel subsidies resulting in higher pump prices and scarcity, and insecurity.
