Former Vice-President, Atiku Abubakar has reacted to the terrorist attack in Yobe state on Sunday.
According to reports, the insurgents killed an unspecified number of people and dropped some fliers with Arabic inscriptions.
Speaking on the dire incident, Atiku lamented that the federal government is more focused on arresting protesters than addressing the worsening insecurity in the country.
The former vice president shared his concerns via a post on his X page on Wednesday.
He argued that the federal government has preoccupied itself with stifling dissent and imposing death sentences on protesters
Atiku wrote, “The atrocity in Yobe is a stark testament to the failure of the current security framework, demanding immediate and comprehensive reform”.
