Insecurity: Abbas seeks improved UN partnership

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, has expressed the readiness of the 10th House to collaborate with the United Nations in addressing the security challenges in Nigeria.

Abbas who stated this on Tuesday also called for better coordination and harmonisation of interventions by foreign bodies to maximise the benefits of the limited resources.

The Speaker, while receiving the Resident Coordinator of the UN in Nigeria, Mohammed Fall, and his team in Abuja, lamented that resources were wasted in the past due to duplication of programmes.

A statement issued on Tuesday by the Media Adviser to the Speaker on Media and Publicity, Musa Krishi, said the lawmaker called for improved synergy between the Federal Government, sub-nationals, and the National Assembly.
