Russian air defenses thwarted a Ukrainian drone attack on Moscow during the night, according to the city’s mayor, Sergey Sobyanin. Preliminary reports indicate there were no casualties or damage on the ground.
The first UAV was intercepted in the Lyubertsy district on the outskirts of the Russian capital, the official stated on Telegram around 2:30am on Tuesday. Fifteen minutes later, Sobyanin reported that two more drones were shot down in the Ramensky district southeast of Moscow. He noted that falling debris did not cause any casualties or damage, stating that emergency services were working at the sites.
Four additional drones were intercepted in the Podolsk district south of the capital, Sobyanin added in a follow-up post at 3:10am local time. By 4am, the official reported two more drones were downed in the Domodedovo district, as well as another one in the Ramensky.
