Osun reforming Amotekun corps, says Adeleke

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, on Monday said his administration had embarked on reform of the state’s Amotekun Corps, as a bridge between local communities and the federal security services.

Adeleke who dropped the hint while receiving a delegation of the Ife Development Board at the Government House, Osogbo, also said the low developmental outlook of the ancient city of Ife was not acceptable, hence the decision to commence massive upgrade starting with the Lagere flyover and the dualisation of the road leading to the palace.

A statement by the spokesman for the governor, Olawale Rasheed, obtained in Osogbo, also noted that Adeleke justified his administration’s decision to change the face of Ile Ife on the ground that the ancient city could not continue to look like a village when global visitors come calling, affirming that Ile Ife is too important to remain low rated in infra outlook.
