Flood damages Borno-Chad-Cameron link bridge, police urge alternative route

The Borno State Police Command has alerted that a flash flood has caused extensive damage to the Ajeri-Dikwa road and the Dikwa-M/Guri road, leading to  disruption of socio-economic activities just as it has also rendered critical routes impassable.

A statement  by the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Nahum Daso, on Saturday night advised “commuters travelling from Mafa, Dikwa, Ngala, Marte, Kalbalge, Maiduguri, as well as individuals from the neighbouring countries such as cameroon and Chad, are advised to seek alternative routes and remain updated on the situation”

The statement stated that although no casualties have been reported, yet “the command remains dedicated to ensuring public safety and encourages the public to stay informed and monitor updates as the situation progresses.

“The following emergency contacts are available for distress: 0806 807 5581, 0802 347 3293,” it added.
