Court Stops PDP Congress In Nasarawa State

The national headquarters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abuja has received an official court order prohibiting the party from conducting its congress at all levels within Nasarawa State.

Naija News understands that this order was communicated through substituted service, following an ex parte motion initiated by 16 party members, led by Senator Mohammed Ogoshi Onawo, who represents Nasarawa South in the Nigerian Senate.

The Nasarawa State High Court in Doma, under the jurisdiction of Justice Abdullahi Hassan Shams Shama, issued the order, which temporarily prevents the PDP from proceeding with its congress in the state.

The court also approved the applicant’s request for substituted service and scheduled the case for further hearing on October 3, 2024.

The lawsuit includes notable individuals such as Senator Suleiman Asonya Adokwe, Michael Abdul, Nuhu Angbazo, Musa Elayo, and Abdulkarim Usman Ombamas, along with several other PDP members from Nasarawa State.
