Former House of Representatives Minority Leader, Dr. Wunmi Bewaji, has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to dismiss additional ministers who are not meeting expectations.
This appeal comes after President Tinubu’s recent cabinet reshuffle, during which six ministers were relieved of their duties, seven new appointments were made, and the portfolios of 10 other ministers were swapped.
In an interview with Tribune, Bewaji described the reshuffle as long overdue and asserted that there are still several “dead woods” within the administration.
He emphasized the need for further decisive action to ensure that only competent individuals occupy key positions in the government.
He said, “A cabinet reshuffle was long overdue, but the cabinet reshuffle that we have witnessed, I want to believe is the beginning. It is not the end. This is because there are still a lot of dead woods in the administration that must be shown the way out.”
