The Medical and Dental Consultants Association of Nigeria (MDCAN), Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital branch, has hailed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for intervening in the crisis at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State.
Tribune Online had earlier reported that President Tinubu had ordered the Minister of Education to dissolve the governing council of the institution on Wednesday and also remove its recently installed Vice Chancellor, Prof. Benard Ifeanyi Odoh, and the registrar.
This is coming three days into a warning strike declared by the national body of the association to protest the exclusion of their members from contesting the position of Vice-Chancellor.
The chairman of the association, Dr Amaechi Nwachukwu, who spoke to journalists in Awka on Thursday, praised Tinubu for harkening to the cry of the association.
He said the action taken by Tinubu shows that he is a listening leader and also ready to do the right thing.
