The Tax Reform Bills, according to President Bola Tinubu, are meant to protect small companies from paying taxes and put in place a system for addressing incessant cases of tax avoidance and evasion. The last has definitely not been heard of the tax reform proposals presented to the National Assembly by President Bola Tinubu in September. Deemed by the Federal Government as economic stimulants, the bills are yet to receive the backing of the legislature, particularly the House of Representatives where Northern lawmakers have joined forces with their governors to frustrate the passage of the bills at the parliament.
