Fubara refutes borrowing claims, to fund govt amid efforts to stop FAAC allocation

Rivers State Governor, Siminialayi Fubara, has stated that his administration has not borrowed funds to govern the state, contrary to circulating reports.

Governor Fubara clarified that the only money borrowed was that of the ₦200 billion earmarked for the construction of the ongoing Ring Road project.

Speaking during the inauguration of the 11.8km Okehi-Umuola-Eberi Link Road on Wednesday, which connects Etche and Omuma Local Government Areas, Governor Fubara urged critics to verify his claims with the Debt Management Office (DMO).

The governor also highlighted that his administration has also paid workers under the state civil service, the new minimum wage, despite efforts by enemies of the state to stop allocation to the state.

Fubara said he remains committed to fostering the well-being and development of Rivers State residents despite attempts to undermine his efforts.
