I regret inability to arrest slain Ogun finance director’s killers — Retiring CP

The retiring Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alamutu, has said that his only regret as he bows out of office after 35 years of service was his inability to get the killers of the Late Finance Director, Taiwo Oyekanmi attached to Ogun Governor’s Office, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

Oyekanmi was ambushed and shot dead on November 29, 2023, while returning from the bank where he went to withdraw some funds for the state.

About five gunmen reportedly blocked the bullion van Oyekanmi was in while it was ascending the popular Kuto Bridge in Abeokuta, opened fire on the official, broke the bullion van door with sledgehammers and carted away huge some of money.

Oyekanmi was pronounced dead on getting to the State Hospital, Ijaye, Abeokuta.

Dapo Abiodun placed a bounty of N50m for anyone who had information that could lead to the arrest of the assailants, yet, one year after no arrest has been made.
