Properties approximated to worth millions of Naira were reportedly destroyed when fire razed seven shops in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State, on Saturday, January 18.
Naija News reports that the event occurred in the Alaro community of Sango, Ibadan.
According to PUNCH, no casualty was recorded in the incident while the cause of the infernor remains unknown as of the time of filing this report.
Upon being reached for comment, Yemi Akinyinka, the General Manager of the State Fire Service, verified the occurrence of the incident to journalists.
“Our men immediately moved to the scene when they were contacted. No life was lost in the inferno.
“On arrival, we met seven shops well alight and we quickly swung into action and restricted the fire from spreading to other shops and nearby buildings.
“The fire was extinguished, no casualty was recorded but property worth millions of naira was affected by fire.
