Trump reinstates death penalty for illegal migrants, heinous crimes

The President of the United States, Donald Trump, in an executive order on Monday, reinstated the death penalty for severe crimes.

Naija News reported that President Trump signed about 200 executive actions, memoranda and proclamations on his first day in office.

Trump’s executive orders undone most of the policies of former President Joe Biden.

In the executive order titled ‘Restoring the Death Penalty and Protecting Public Safety’, the 47th President of America decried what he described as a subversion of law.

It is the policy of the United States to ensure that the laws that authorize capital punishment are respected and faithfully implemented, and to counteract the politicians and judges who subvert the law by obstructing and preventing the execution of capital sentences,” he stated.
