About 164 violators were apprehended for breaching the Saturday monthly environmental sanitation exercise in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.
They are to be charged before the court for their offences, according to the state Commissioner for Environment, Hajia Nafisat Musa Buge.
One of the violators, who attacked one of the environmental sanitation officers on duty, has been handed over to the police authorities for prosecution.
She, however, commended residents in the Ilorin metropolis for their compliance with the monthly environmental sanitation exercise aimed at creating a cleaner Kwara.
Speaking during the monitoring of the exercise on Saturday, she appreciated Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq for his untiring support in providing the necessary facilities to curb indiscriminate waste dumping.
