Kano anti-corruption boss regains freedom after police detention

The Chairman of the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC), Barrister Muhuyi Magaji Rimingado, has been released on bail after being detained by the police for hours on Friday.

He was granted bail on self-recognition late Friday night after undergoing interrogation at the Zone One Police Headquarters, Kano.

Rimingado was arrested earlier in the day by a special team from the office of the Inspector General of Police (IGP).

According to his lawyer, Usman Umar Fari, Rimingado was released after three hours of questioning and instructed to report to the IGP’s office in Abuja on Monday for further interrogation.

Reports suggest that the arrest may be tied to a high-profile corruption case involving the former Managing Director of the Kano Agricultural Supply Company Limited (KASCO), Bala Muhammed Inuwa. Inuwa is accused of diverting over N4 billion in public funds.
