The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has apprehended eight individuals involved in illicit activities related to petroleum products and the destruction of public infrastructure within Rivers State.
Naija News reports that the NSCDC Commandant for Rivers State, Joachim Okafor, disclosed this development during a press briefing held in his office in Port Harcourt on Saturday.
He explained that the suspects, captured in various locations across the state, were found transporting illegally refined petroleum products and had damaged concrete rods intended for manholes and hedge beams, as well as metals believed to have been stolen from public facilities.
Okafor noted that the Command’s Anti-Vandal Unit and Tactical Team seized five vehicles, including three trucks for transporting stolen crude oil and vandalized metals.
