Exam malpractice: Nigerian Govt to move against miracle centres – Education minister

Minister of Education, Tunji Alausa, has said President Bola Tinubu has given the Ministry of Education a mandate to unveil innovative ways to boost the ranking of Nigerian universities.

He said the mandate informed his appointment as the substantive Minister of Education during the cabinet reshuffle by the President.

According to Alausa, five universities are being shortlisted for specialised kind of training, which would then be passed on to other institutions across the country.

Beyond this, the minister revealed that the Tinubu administration is committed to sanitising the country’s education system by eliminating the proliferation of “miracle centres”.

He made these remarks while appearing on Channels Television’s Politics Today, saying the Nigerian government is taking a firm decision to put an end to the fraudulent system of aiding students in cheating during national examinations.
