Stakeholders in Niger State have pledged to work together to develop a comprehensive policy framework to tackle the challenges confronting cassava production and unlock its potential in improving the state’s economy and the livelihoods of farmers.
This commitment was made at a meeting organised by the Federal Government’s Value Chain Development Programme, VCDP, in Minna, Niger State, on the way forward for cassava production in the face of challenges in the state.
To address these challenges, stakeholders, including experts in cassava production, state lawmakers, local government chairmen, and farmers, agreed to collaborate in developing a comprehensive policy framework, saying the cassava value chain has the capacity to turn the nation’s fortunes around.
