Following the unexpected loss of lives and property of Nigerians scooping fuel from a fallen tanker along the Guaraka-Kaduna road, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, has deployed personnel to guard against unforeseen incidents.
CSC Babawale Afolabi, National Public Relations Officer of the NSCDC National Headquarters, Abuja, in a statement on Saturday, said the aim was to prevent a fire outbreak that could destroy lives and properties.
DAILY POST recalls that several lives were lost when a tanker loaded with PMS fell, and residents were scooping fuel in Niger State.
To curtail this, the NSCDC, led by the Operational and Disaster Response Team and a representative of the NSCDC Commandant General, Dr. Ahmed Abubakar, was at the scene to prevent a reoccurrence.
