The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Sokoto State has strongly criticised the APC-led administration of Governor Ahmed Aliyu over its failure to pay civil servants’ salaries on time, leaving many workers in distress.
In a statement signed by the PDP’s publicity secretary, Hassan Sahabi Sanyinnawal, the party expressed deep concern over the financial hardship caused by the continued delays, “which have now become the norm since the government’s late implementation of the national minimum wage.”
According to the PDP, “salary payments are now being delayed well into the middle of the following month, with some workers left unpaid from previous months.”
The party described this situation as unacceptable, especially given the substantial federal allocations the state receives.
