Police arrest Delta community youth leader, kidnappers, recover Ak-47, pistol, ammunition

The Delta State Police Command has arrested one Victor Edavwe, the Youth President of Ekpan community in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State, along with some kidnappers and armed robbers found in possession of an AK-47 rifle, a Beretta pistol, and some ammunition.

At about 10:30 am on 15 March 2025, the Divisional Police Officer of Ekpan Police Station, CSP Aliyu Shaba, received information that the suspect had recently acquired an AK-47 rifle.

The DPO mobilised and led operatives to Shrine Street in Ekpan, where the suspect, Victor Edavwe, was arrested and taken to the police station for questioning.

During interrogation, the suspect allegedly provided useful information that corroborated earlier intelligence and led the operatives to the house of one Efe (surname unknown), aka Eteyomo.
