Installation of Oyo monarch lawful – Ruling house

The Olurin Royal family of the Akalako Ruling House of Eruwa in the Ibarapa East Local Government Area of Oyo State has reaffirmed the installation of Oba Samuel Adegbola, Ajobo Olurin I, as the Eleruwa of Eruwa, describing the process “as lawful, transparent and a joint decision of the Eruwa kingmakers.”

The Head of Olurin Royal family of Akalako Ruling House, Chief Pade Babalola, disclosed this during a press briefing held in Eruwa, the headquarters of the local government area, on Friday.

The PUNCH reports that the Laribikusi Ruling House had, on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, asked Governor Seyi Makinde to reverse the appointment of Oba Adegbola, threatening to seek legal redress in Court.

It will also be recalled that on Friday, November 29, 2019, the Supreme Court deposed Oba Adegbola as the Eleruwa of Eruwaland after he had reigned for 21 years.
