: The fresh move by some Deposit Money Banks to re-circulate old N500 and N1,000 notes suffered a setback on Tuesday as motorists, fuel stations, retailers, traders, and other categories of bank customers rejected the old currencies.


The Guardian: President-Elect, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has approached the Court of Appeal, seeking an order to access sensitive materials used by the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) for the conduct of the presidential election. With 8,794,726 votes, Tinubu, candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), was declared winner of the February 25 poll ahead of Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who polled 6,984,520 votes, and Peter Obi, candidate of the Labour Party (LP), who secured 6,101,533 votes.


This Day: The Court of Appeal in Abuja, yesterday, adjourned till today for ruling in an application by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) seeking to vary the court’s order for inspection of materials used for the conduct of the February 25 presidential election.


The Nation: The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) yesterday said that the reset of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) machines must be done before Saturday’s governorship and House of Assembly elections can hold across the federation.
