Images have emerged of a drug cartel boss, who recently died in a horror Fast and Furious-style drag race crash, being buried wearing a crown.

Jesús Francisco Sarrazin Lorh, known as El Pirata (The Pirate), died during an illegal drag race in Sonora, Mexico, on Friday (November 25).

Shocking footage of the incident showed the cartel boss speeding along a race track before his car slammed into a retaining wall and flipped.

The vehicle reportedly suffered a mechanical failure with witnesses saying he was unable to brake.

More footage has now emerged, this time from El Pirata’s funeral, showing him lying in an open casket wearing a crown.

Other clips show bands playing as scores of people line up to pay their respects, with El Pirata’s coffin draped in flowers.

El Pirata was the leader of Los Salazar, an armed wing of the feared Sinaloa Cartel – the drug trafficking organisation that used to be led by Joaquín ‘El Chapo‘ Guzmán until his arrest in 2016.
