El Chapo’s son is said to have been betrayed by a close ally of the family, with said right-hand man giving away a secret location to army officials.
Audio clips gathered from an alleged radio transmission were heard to have given hitmen the location of Ovidio Guzman, implying that Mayo Zambada had given away his location.
Zambada, a Mexican drug lord with close ties to El Chapo, appears to have given up the son of his close ally in a recent recording released days before the January 5 arrest of Guzman on drug-related charges.
Members of the Sinaloa Cartel are said to have leaked the audio files, which allegedly contain Zambada documenting the whereabouts of El Chapo’s son.
