In recent years, there has been a societal shift towards more body positivity, and acceptance of who we are in that exact moment in time. This has made many people feel more comfortable in their skin and has allowed them to be their true selves. One woman who doesn’t care what the haters say is 92-year-old Joan Woodhouse, who despite some people criticising her, flaunts her figure in lovely dresses and bikinis.
On her TikTok account, @joansumner1930, she shares videos responding to her fans who ask her daily what her secret to keeping youthful is. In one recent video, she joked ‘well, my secret is Nivea’.

She explained that she puts cream all over her body, and has been using Nivea for 70 years. Speaking about the cream, the gran said: “Get your body warm and spread it all over you and you’ll look beautiful when you’re my age.” She then let out a little laugh.
Joan, a retired dressmaker, originally from Blackburn, Lancashire, said: “I don’t know how to behave like a 91-year-old – I just act the same as I did when I was 21.
“I’ve always looked young, and people are always shocked when I tell them my age as I don’t look, talk or act like I am 91.
“I don’t do anything special to stay young – I love pies and English grub so even in Spain I’ve stuck to eating that.
“I love wearing a bikini and going to the beach with my granddaughter.
“I’ve never put any weight on. I think that must be my secret to my young looks that and I just love life and have never had the mindset of being old.”
