The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC)’s most wanted persons list grew from a dozen to 35 between 2022 and 2023.

In April 2022, FIJ highlighted the 12 individuals on the ICPC’s most wanted persons list.

A year after, however, the same list has grown from 12 to 35 individuals. The wanted persons include many old faces from 2022 and new additions.

Eleven of the 12 individuals who appeared on the wanted list in 2022 also appeared on the 2023 list. Only Tony Aiyejina, one of the wanted persons on the 2022 list, is missing in the one published in 2023.

Aiyejina had impersonated Mallam Adamu Adamu, Nigeria’s minister of education. He used the minister’s office to defraud a victim of N2.5 million.
