Nigeria’s Federal Government has launched a nationwide inspection and monitoring exercise to ensure businesses adhere to established standards for pricing, weights, and measurements.
The exercise, led by the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Investment, aims to enforce compliance with the Non-Automatic Weighing Instruments Regulations 2016 and the Measuring Instruments Regulations 2016.
Ambassador Nura Abba Rimi, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, stated that the exercise aims to enhance market trust, promote fair transactions, and protect consumers from fraud and exploitation. The exercise also aims to foster investment and economic growth in Nigeria.
