The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has condemned a viral testimony of a member of Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministries who claimed an angel provided answers during an examination. Stephen Adegbite, CAN chairman in Lagos, described the testimony as “fabrications” and urged churches to scrutinize members’ stories before allowing them to testify. Adegbite said that not all testimonies are suitable for public consumption and urged churches to invite members to testify against her claims.
CAN plans to meet on September 28 to address the concerns, and CAN has been criticized for not allowing certain testimonies to be given in the church. The skepticism surrounding testimonies from the church has led to the sharing of old clips of congregants recounting their miraculous experiences.
