Giant 20ft wide sinkhole opens up on residential street in south London and swallows MOTORBIKE as police cordon off road

Emergency services were called to the scene on Martens Avenue in Bexleyheath just before 9pm last night
Police and firefighters were met with the 16ft deep void and it has not yet been made clear what caused it
Cordons put in place and remain there this morning, and there have not been any injuries, police confirmed

A giant 20ft wide sinkhole has opened up and swallowed a motorbike on a residential street in south London.

Emergency services were called to the scene on Martens Avenue in Bexleyheath just before 9pm last night.

Police and firefighters were met with the huge void which had formed on the residential road – though it’s unclear what caused it.
