No fewer than 62 cases of alleged disappearance of manhood have been reported in Nigeria’s Federal Capital Territory, the police have said.

In a statement on Friday, the FCT Commissioner of Police, Haruna G. Garba, said among the 62 cases reported to the command, 51 were discovered to be false alarms.

He explained that the suspects who raised the alarms had been arrested and charged in court.

He, therefore, called on residents to always cooperate with security operatives in a bid to ensure that the city is free of crimes.

He said, “The first case of male organ disappearance was first recorded in Gwagwalada on 21/09/2023. It has spread all over FCT whereby as of today we have had a total of sixty-two (62) cases reported.”

“Fifty-one (51) suspects charged to court for giving false information and inciting public disturbance. To this end, I want to reiterate my commitment and willingness to always work with you (residents of FCT) to defeat crime in all its forms in the Federal Capital Territory,” the statement added
