Nigeria, Ghana, 61 other countries facing food poverty, says UNICEF

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has reported that more than 60 countries around the world, including Nigeria, Ghana, and Afghanistan, are facing food poverty.

The report highlights that these countries are grappling with the effects of conflict, climate change, food price inflation, unhealthy food marketing, and poor child feeding practices, which negatively impact the well-being of millions of children under the age of five.

As a result, one in four children in these countries (approximately 181 million) are currently living in severe child food poverty.
