Former Minister of Women Affairs, Uju Kennedy Ohanenye, has expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu and Nigerians following her removal from the cabinet in a recent reshuffle.
Ohanenye, who served for over a year, described the opportunity to contribute to national development as a “privilege.”
In a letter shared on her X (formerly Twitter) handle, she thanked Tinubu, the First Lady Oluremi Tinubu, and Nigerians for their support during her tenure.
“I write to express my sincere gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the opportunity to serve as a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. It has been an honour and a privilege to contribute to the development of our nation,” she posted.
The former minister also credited the First Lady for her “invaluable guidance and support,” saying it played a crucial role in her success. She pledged to continue contributing to Nigeria’s progress despite her removal.
President Tinubu relieved Ohanenye and four other ministers of their duties on Wednesday without stating specific reasons for their dismissal.
The affected ministers include: Lola Ade-John (Tourism); Tahir Mamman (Education); Abdullahi Gwarzo (State, Housing and Urban Development); and Jamila Ibrahim (Youth Development).
