TREINTA Y TRES, Uruguay – A tragic fire swept through a nursing home in Treinta y Tres, Uruguay, early Sunday morning, leaving ten people dead, according to local authorities and media sources.
The blaze, which broke out at the facility located in the eastern part of the country, claimed the lives of ten seniors residing in the nursing home. Firefighters responded swiftly to the scene, working to evacuate residents and contain the fire. At this time, the cause of the deadly fire remains unclear.
In the wake of the devastating incident, the Uruguayan government has declared three days of mourning in remembrance of the victims. The city of Treinta y Tres, home to approximately 25,000 inhabitants, has been shaken by this sudden loss.
