CNN anchor Abby Phillip on Monday declared that Democrats need to “break out” of echo chambers and embrace different points of views following Donald Trump’s election win over Kamala Harris.
Phillip, in remarks at Harvard University spotted by Mediaite, said she’s found that “elites” have increasingly talked exclusively to each other which has led them to believe that their “consensus is shared broadly.”
This has presented an issue for Democrats, she argued, as there hasn’t been enough people who will confidently push back and offer alternative views as a result.
“And we as a society need to find better ways to uplift divergent voices. Otherwise, we will be victims of groupthink,” Phillip said.
She then pointed to a multiracial, multiethnic “activist” class with a presence in the party.
